Who are we?

History

On January 12th, 2017, the first episode of season 1 was released. At first, it was a concept and a work in progress. The second episode aired on January 14th, 2017. In that episode, it was the first appearance of co-anchor HmanTG. He made another appearance on episode six, which would be his last. Episodes were randomly aired for the first season. The first season consisted of seven episodes, with the last episode airing on April 24th, 2017.

More than eight months later, on January 12, 2018, one year after the very first episode, Pickyman News made a comeback with season 2. The season was pretty sporadic and only had four episodes, with the last episode on May 2nd, 2018.

After two years and three months, a third season began, which was the most successful and modern season since its predecessors. The first episode aired on August 5th, 2020. The season consisted of fourteen episodes, the most out of any other season before it. On average, each episode had 20 views. The most viewed episode was episode thirteen, with 68 views. Most episodes had very positive feedback. Some, however, had some dislikes and criticism based on the reported stories or about the anchor. Season 3 was planned to end after the 2020 presidential election, which meant the first-ever, Decision Night in America with Pickyman News aired the next day after the election, which is a unique newscast covering the election. The season finale aired on November 25th, 2020, which was the second most-viewed episode.

The fourth season began on July 14th, 2021, and ended on November 17th, 2021. The season ended with a whopping fifteen episodes, one more than season 3. At the time before the finale, the average number of views per episode was ~18 views, which is a 2-view drop compared to the previous season. The most viewed episode was episode one, with 40 views. The season finale aired on November 17th, 2021.

Season five began on July 6th, 2022, and is expected to end on November 30th. The fifth season was teased as, a "New season, New graphics, New experience. Be sure to tune in every Wednesday from July to November to enjoy an all-new Pickyman News.". The season's first two episodes performed poorly, likely due to the new thumbnail style. Starting on episode three and on, the thumbnails returned to the look of previous seasons. During season five, Today In History is also ongoing, which is bringing in new viewers from YouTube Shorts to discover Pickyman News episodes.

Ratings

Pickyman News season 3 had an average of 97% approval on each episode. The most viewed episode was episode thirteen, with 68 views.

Pickyman News season 4 had an average of 100% approval on each episode. The most viewed episode was episode one, with 40 views.

Each new episode consists of three stories, whether they are all from the U.S. or a mix of the world. All the stories mentioned are just summaries and/or key highlights. The full article is in the description of the episode.

Weather

After the 2nd story is complete, the weather segment kicks in. Usually displays National Weather Service-issued advisories or warnings, and ongoing temperatures and storms for specific areas, like hurricanes.

Discontinuation

On June 19th, 2023, Pickyman Studios formally announced that Pickyman News will be put on pause indefinitely better to reflect the main channel's (Picky) niche and resources.

Relaunch in 2024

In late 2023, an all-new Pickyman News YouTube channel was formed and began posting short, informative, and concise news shorts. 

The goal sometime in 2024 is to publish long-form mini-documentaries regarding American and global affairs.
